The protest led by Sonam Wangchuk at Delhi's Jantar Mantar took a dramatic turn on Saturday. After remaining on a hunger strike for 21 days, Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police, who said the move was carried out in compliance with Delhi High Court directions and on the advice of doctors due to his deteriorating health. The action triggered strong protests at Jantar Mantar, with demonstrators expressing anger and intensifying their agitation. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Deepke announced that he would begin an indefinite hunger strike from the protest site. He declared that removing Wangchuk would not end the movement and reaffirmed that the proposed Parliament March on July 20 would take place as planned.
दिल्ली के जंतर-मंतर पर चल रहा सोनम वांगचुक का आंदोलन शनिवार को बड़ा मोड़ ले गया। 21 दिनों से भूख हड़ताल पर बैठे वांगचुक को दिल्ली पुलिस ने हाई कोर्ट के निर्देश और डॉक्टरों की सलाह का हवाला देते हुए सफदरजंग अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया। पुलिस की इस कार्रवाई के बाद प्रदर्शनकारियों में भारी नाराजगी फैल गई और जंतर-मंतर पर विरोध तेज हो गया। इसी बीच कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के संस्थापक अभिजीत दीपके ने मंच से आमरण अनशन शुरू करने का ऐलान कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वांगचुक को हटाने से आंदोलन खत्म नहीं होगा और 20 जुलाई को प्रस्तावित संसद मार्च हर हाल में निकलेगा। दीपके ने देशभर के लोगों से अपने-अपने शहरों में शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन करने की अपील भी की। फिलहाल वांगचुक की हालत डॉक्टरों की निगरानी में स्थिर बताई जा रही है, जबकि जंतर-मंतर पर आंदोलन और राजनीतिक हलचल लगातार तेज होती नजर आ रही है।
